Nine weeks schedule brings about changes

It is to be assumed that the students have heard the announcements about the new schedule change. Yes, it's true, Apollo High School is changing from a six weeks schedule to a nine weeks schedule!
When looked into, it was found that Apollo High School was the only school in the district that was on a six week schedule.
If the students here were still on a six weeks schedule, they would only meet about thirteen times for each of their classes per grading period. Now, they will be in each of their classes approximately twenty to twenty- five times per grading period.
Now, instead of getting a progress report every three weeks, the students will be recieving one every four and a half weeks.
When asked her personal opinion on the new nine weeks schedule, Jennifer Cockerell, a junior, had this to say, "The new nine weeks schedule is just fine with me. We had it in Middle School at College View and it worked just fine. I see it as less report cards... less yelling at home!”
Most of the students have probably been on a nine weeks schedule before at another school, such as College View Middle School, Burns Middle School, and one of the elementary schools.
Many students think that the schedule change is going to be a good thing, although there are a few who may have liked having the six weeks schedule.
The students will have to wait and see which way they like it better. Good luck to all of the Apollo High School students as you go through the year!
