Apollo High Schools boys Varsity team has come a long way. With Mike Wilkerson as their new coach thier season has started off to a great beginning. Apollo’s soccer team has won six games, lost six, and tied four.

Recently in the season, Apollo lost to Owensboro Catholic High School, 1-0. The next time Apollo played Catholic, they won 3-0. Apollo defeated Daviess County High School with a score of 2-1. Apollo played Daviess County a second tim; tied them 3-3. Next, Apollo beat Owesboro High School with a score 2-0.

This year, Kelly Donaldson is the teams leading scorer with fifteen goals. Stephen Heart feels that Donaldson has been a terrific asset to the boys soccer team. “Has amazing foot skills, he is quick with his feet and this allows him to monover around the defense and this allows him to score more easily.”

Morgan Elder feels that “Wilkerson’s attitude and disciplinary system has helped turn our team around.” This year, Elder feels fortunate to be on the boys varsity soccer team. “This year has been the most enjoyable because we are winning as a team. Our teams’ chemestry and work on the field has all come together here at the end of the season.”
