2004 Summer Camp Accomplishments

The Apollo High School Cheerleaders attended the National Cheerleading Association camp at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee on July the 27-29. The cheerleaders received superior ratings for the entire week and a spirit stick. They received a bid to the NCA national cheerleading competition in Dallas, Texas. This is the world's largest national competition. They were selected based on their technical ability and crowd involvement skills. They received Technical Excellence Awards for Jumping and Stunts. They were a Top Team Finalist for the camp. The Entire team was nominated for All-American. The nominee's display superior qualities in certain aspects of cheerleading including leadership, showmanship, and technique. The following individuals were selected as All-Americans: Chelsea Boling, Latanya Carter, Courtney Fogle, Whitney Frey, Susan Kuegel, Rachel McDivitt, Keyocko McHenry, Andrea Roberson, Jacy Stanley, and Kelsey Stewart. Jacy Stanley was selected as the Top All-American for the camp. Apollo was selected by the other teams at the camp for the Spirit Award. This award is for the team who showed the most spirit, enthusiasm, and leadership for the week. The NCA staff also selected Apollo as the team with the most spirit for the week. Andrea Roberson and Kelsey Stewart were selected to try-out for NCA staff positions.
