September 13- Regional College Fair Day. You will be called out of 2 nd period to load the buses. They will be in front of the domed area. Morning technical students will not attend-they will go on to the technical college.

September 13- Senior Parent Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Parents call guidance and let us know they will attend.

ACT AND SAT REGISTRATION PACKETS MUST BE REDONE EVERY TIME YOU TAKE A TEST. YOU CAN REGISTER ON LINE OR BY USING THE PACKET IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE. YOU MUST PUT THE APOLLO HIGH SCHOOL CODE ON THE REGISTRATION FORM - OR I WILL NOT GET YOUR SCORE TO PUT ON YOUR TRANSCRIPT.

ALL ATHLETES THAT WILL PLAY COLLEGE BALL IN A DIVISION I or II division, must register on line with the NCAA Clearinghouse. When filling out your ACT or SAT form, you must send your scores to the Clearinghouse - the Code is 9999.

MORE SCHOLARSHIPS TO APPLY FOR----

#5 Horatio Alger Association- Students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, and will continue to pursue a college degree. Parent income must be $50,000 or less.

Deadline is October 15, 2005.

#6 Kentucky High School Essay Contest-Essay is 600 words or less, must be typed and student will be judged on grammar, style, clarity. Topics include how concrete benefits society, how concrete affect the environment, Using concrete to build safer homes, etc. There are several other topics and you get to select the one you want. The winner receives $1,000. THIS IS GREAT RETURNS FOR A 600 WORD ESSAY!!!!

If you are considering Transylvania University -please see me. If you apply by December 1, you will be considered for their William T. Young Scholarship. This means lots of money for you in scholarships if you meet the criteria.

MINUTE MEETING TO DISCUSS HOW TO FILL OUT THE ACT PACKET AND WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF THE TEST. YOU MUST SIGN UP IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE TO ATTEND---

Speaking of the ACT---Remember to sign up for the ACT workshops that we will have here at Apollo. If you forgot the dates, look on Apollo's website and go to Guidance. Review the information I have posted. There are 31 seats available for each session.
