The person who receives this traveling award exhibits some or all of the following characteristics:
1) Models high expectations for students
2) Maintains a positive learning environment
3) Effective classroom management skills
4) Mutual respect for both peers and students
5) Command of subject area
6) Variation of teaching methods to address diverse learners
This, of course, is evidenced by administrator observations throughout the school year. A different teacher will receive the award each month.
