Your newspaper will include (but is not limited to): · Feature Article with an “interview” with the poet of the TWO poems you have read. (35 points) · Reader’s Corner where you write an article (either one with both poems or two where you write about the poems individually). In this, you will include title of poem, theme, use of figurative language, and the meaning of poem. You will also include professional critiques of the poem (which you can find online or in the school’s library) for which you will either support or challenge using clear examples from the poem/author info. (30 points) · Editorial where you will either support or challenge the following statement: These poems I read are great examples of great literature and should be taught in school. (35 points)
You will not be graded by your “Yes” or “No” answer, but the support you give to your answer. Be sure to include the titles of the poems in your introduction and then you must be certain to give clear examples and support of your stated thesis. |
