Creating a template in Dreamweaver (this assumes that you know how manage, link and work with files)
| Step 1. Open Dreamweaver. Click, File, New. In the dialog box click Templates at the top, find the template that connects to your class, click on it and then click Create. | ![]() |
Step 2. |
![]() |
| Step 3. Go to your folder and create blank documents and save them as the name of the file that the hyperlinks will attach. Note: A hyperlink must have a document in which to link, that is why at this point we will be creating an empty document with the correct file name. Later, we will created the actual document and save it as the same file name. | ![]() |
| Step 4. Attach the links to the correct files. | ![]() |
| Step 5. Insert an editable hyperlink for the content location. Placing your curser in the space on your page where you want the content, then click Insert, Template Objects, Editable region. Type the word Content in the box, then click ok. | ![]() |
| Step 6. Save the template. Click File, Save as Template. Give it a name that describes its use. | ![]() |
| Once the template has been created, you can go to File, New and use the template to create new documents using the template. You will need to develop pages that match the hyperlink names and save the new documents using the same (old) file name. This will make your hyperlinks attach to a finished document. |
