The Apollo AFJROTC program was established in 1972, when Apollo became a high school. The past instuctors of the AFJROTC program were Colonel Hobson, MSgt. Holderby, Colonel Nichols, Sergeant Taylor. The program's first
classroom was the auditorium; ROTC was later moved to a doublewide trailer in the early 1980's. In 1987 the moble
home was moved to the parking lot when Apollo underwent a 8 million dollar renovation project. In 1988 the AFJROTC
program was relocated to the classroom in which Colonel Nichols designed. Master Sergeant Parker arrived March 4,
1986. Sarge started the Drill Team, Color Guard, and the weeky uniform day. Colonel Paul arrived December 1, 1992.
Colonel Paul started the Kitty Hawk Air Society and Orinteering.
