Students read Tiempo Libre by Guillermo Sampiero. The short story is a magical realism piece. In Tiempo Libre the main character always has to read the paper each morning and feels lost if he doesn’t. One day while reading the paper the ink begins to rub off on his hands more than usual and he doesn’t feel well.
Students wrote their own short stories in Spanish about something that tends to consume them on a daily basis. The stories had to contain a magical realism element, be illustrated, and narrated in their own voice. |
